I'm attempting to run a server from my computer, it's connecting wirelessly to a linksys befcmuh4 cable router, I have set the port forwarding (port 3784) to this computer's statically assigned ip address (192.168.0.20) I have also set the dmz on the router to the above IP. I have disabled all firewalls, both on my computer and my router, and I am still not able to connect to the server from anywhere outside my LAN. Any advice that might get this working?

are you sure you have given the right IP to the person?

example: www.showip.com

I was having the same problem. I tried everything that you did I bet. Then I found my stupid mistake. I am using a SMC Barricard so I rechecked the port forwarding. With the SMC there is a NAT section and from there I selected Virtual Server. It is called different I bet under your configuration but basically I have the private IP port that I am mapping to (192.168.2.102) and the private port. It also has a Public Port number.

I had a typo in the private port. It did not match what I had in the public port so it didnt work. Once I matched them it worked.

I setup my dsl modem to be a bridge ethernet and my barricade to be a PPPoE. You can do a traceroute to the IP of your Ventrillo server and it should go to your router. That at least will tell you if it is reaching your router. If the traceroute makes it to your router than I bet it is something misconfigured in your NAT / IP forwarding.

Hope this helps!
