Hi

I have a ventrilo server running version Linux 2.1.2
OS of the Server is Suse Linux 9.1
The voice codec is 0 (GSM 6.10)
The voice format is 2 (22050 hz, 16 bit)

I have one client who cannot speak though testing and monitoring in the setup section works.
Sometimes i can hear him but it seems, that his voice is played much too fast (don't know how i should describe this better).

If I change the voice format to 1 (11025 hz, 16 bit, same codec) everything works fine and I can hear him well.

The client version is Win 2.1.3 / 2.1.4 (doesn't matter which vesion)
The soundcard of the client is a Terratec tt solo 1 1938 with an actual driver.
OS of the client is Win 98 SE.

His internet connection is fast enough for codec 0 and voice format 2 (DL: 1024kb / UL 128kb) ... i have the same connection to the server.

I hope these are all the informations you need in order to help me ;)
Sorry if my english isn't perfect, i am from germany ;)

greets
IsePi

it's been a long time since win9x...anyway, make sure it's the fully updated drivers (as updated as 9x drivers get). that's all i can say about codec info.

Options:
1) Use 11025Hz
2) Client needs to update everything the best he can, may I suggest another soundcard. You can pick up a SB Live pretty cheap and it might solve the issue. I don't know much about his sound card but it seems outdated and might not support the higher sample rate.
3) Upgrade his system
