have u opened and forwarded the correct ports to the hosting machine?

on my router (belkin) i have an option called virtual servers, when i log into the router (default to 192.168.2.1) which allows me to forward custom ports to certian machines on the network. eg inbound port = 1234, type = tcp, private IP address(network ip) = 192.168.2.9, private port = 1234

so people connecting to port 1234 on my router would be redirected to port 1234 on the machine that has the network ip 192.168.2.2

If your router does not have port forwarding set your PC to the DMZ host. Also make sure you dont have a firewall running on the machine ventrilo is running from.

Oki I have a question what should I put for the Virtual Server as the Public port, private port and the Lan Server, as for the DMZ host what IP do I put my routers IP the one that people are trying to connect to or the IP that IPchicken gives me?

The DMZ host should be set to your computer. Most routers are like 192.168.1.1xx (most start at 100). so your pc is probably 100-104. If your on xp type start > run > cmd > ipconfig and you will get your ip address. Set that to dmz and set that as your ventrilo IP as well. If your using the free version of ventrilo, it will set to that ip already.

public port and private port should be the port ventrilo is listening to (default 3784) the lan server should be the lan ip of the ventrilo host machine. run the ipconfig thing and that will give you ur lan ip, u can also check on your router, it will have a list of them. om my router its called dhcp client list.
