I was wondering if someone can tell me how to password our lobby! We have a dozen people getting into our lobby and causing problems. If there is anyone that can help me i would appreciate it. Thanks.

You can do 2 things which will likely be acceptable. You can silence the lobby or you can password the entire server.

check the server help file for details.

How can you do either if you are renting the vent server? I am an admin on the server but we rent it. Is there any way to do it without owning it?

if you rent a server and do not have access to your .ini file, you can set your server password by typing in /rcon password <password>

but, it the server won't require a password yet. to require a password on the server, type /rcon auth 1

rcon password? Isn't that for the HL server? I'm talking about our ventrillo server. I connect to the server then where do i go from there? I dont have anywhere to enter an rcon password. I dont think you are following what i'm trying to do. I got little kiddies getting on our vent server in the lobby and i want to lock down our ventrillo server but instead of making it a private server i want it to require a password instead. But i dont want i to be locked out completely. I want to have full control over it.

in the ventrilo chat, there is an rcon. but this only works if you have your admin pass. are you sure you don't have a control panel where you rent your ventrilo?

by setting auth to 1 it requires a server password, whereas 2 requires a server account (username and password)...but i won't get into that.
