Hi,
I want to install the ventrilo serv on my gentoo linux server.
But if I emerge it, or if I download and install it by my self there is this error message:

/etc/init.d/ventrilo: line 9: 22898 killed nice -n ${NICE} /opt/ventrilo-server/ventrilo_srv -f/opt/ventrilo-server/ventrilo_srv -d [ !! ]
or

killed ./ventrilo_srv

What schould I do?
Pls help!

THX

ventrilo's setup on *nix is so easy, i'd just do it manually instead of emerging. i think you would get more support in the gentoo forums than here. this seems like an init.d script setup issue. look for the ventrilo log and check there to see why it was killed, but I doubt if it even started if the script isn't working.

yast > emerge :P

Have you followed the inctructions for setting up a server on the website and/or the .htm file included in the server bundle? The process is quite simple, maybe tell us your steps when you download the server bundle from the www.ventrilo.com website and go from there.

Interesting site, reminds me of maddox.xmission.com, without the actual meaningful commentary.
