Ok sorry but this is going to be long
I have used ventrilo for a long time with no issue. However recently when I connect randomly it will cause problems with my internet. This happens to everyone I know that uses our ventrilo sever and other friends on a different sever. I stay connected to ventrillo and can talk just fine with a very low ping. If I try to open a web page (firefox 2.0) it wont load, I cannot connect guild wars or battlefield 2142. Here is what I have tried to do to fix it:
1) reboot dsl modem
2) reboot router
3) repair internet connection
4) go in cmd release and renew
no dice.
If I reboot and do not start Vent, then everything is fine. I start vent and boom everything goes down. It goes away after 20-30 minutes. The wierd part is that vent works fine, just nothing else
I am using the current client
Bellsouth fast access dsl modem(cant think of the brand im at work)
DI-624 router
tforce4u mb with built in ethernet
since this is widespread on my vent server I'm really leaning towards the hoster being the problem, but still what could the vent cleint be doing that locks up my internet.
